This Privacy Policy describes how Studio OSC Remote ("the App"), developed by Hans Martin Austestad ("we", "us", or "our"), handles user information. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our practices.

We do not collect personal data. Studio OSC Remote is a local network control utility that sends OSC messages to compatible audio software and hardware. The App does not:

Collect or store personal information on any server

Require a user account
Include analytics or crash reporting

How the App Works

Studio OSC Remote connects to OSC-compatible audio systems over the local network using Open Sound Control (OSC). The app sends and receives control messages to operate monitor functions such as volume, mute, dim, mono, talkback, speaker switching, and snapshots.

All communication occurs directly between the app and the target audio system on the user's local network. No data is transmitted to external servers.

Local Data Storage

The App stores the following information locally on your device:

Connection settings (IP address, port numbers)
Theme and appearance preferences
Window size and position preferences (macOS)
Keyboard shortcut bindings
MIDI controller mappings

This data is used solely to configure and operate the app for your audio workflow. It is never transmitted to external servers.

Network Communication

Studio OSC Remote communicates with OSC-compatible audio systems using OSC over UDP on the local network. The app requires Local Network permission on iOS to discover and communicate with those systems.

No internet connection is required for the app to function. All communication stays within your local network.

Permissions

The app uses the following system permissions:

Local Network (iOS): Required for OSC communication with compatible audio systems on your local network.
MIDI Device Access: Optional, used when connecting external MIDI controllers for control mapping.

Third Parties

Studio OSC Remote does not integrate with any third-party advertising, analytics, or tracking services. No account backend or external service is part of the app workflow.

Children's Privacy

The app is intended as a utility for audio users and studios, not as a service directed toward children. Since the App does not collect personal data, it is suitable for users of all ages.

Data Retention and Deletion

All data is stored locally on your device. Uninstalling Studio OSC Remote removes all locally stored settings and preferences. You can also reset the app's settings from within the app at any time.
